Our Story
A whole new ministry - as a runner's second wind.
Second Wind Creations was founded by Stephen and Karen Wells. After more than twenty years in ministry, they sensed a new direction from the Lord - and a calling to put His words where people would read them.
The Calling
Stephen and Karen previously owned companies in advertising, design, illustration and painting. Stephen is an accomplished watercolor artist - his work held in national galleries and in the Smithsonian. Karen built a career in graphic design. When they felt called to a new direction, it was to build something that carries a message worth stopping for.
Stephen received what he describes as a clear directive: “Make Jesus Proud.”
That directive became the seed of everything - beginning with the Scripture Witness series. The vision expanded to prophetic scriptures for individual U.S. states, and then toward nations worldwide, beginning with Zambia. A message meant to move - and to keep moving.
Why "Second Wind"
As Karen tells it, God said He was providing them “a whole new ministry… as a runner's second wind” - renewed energy after years of teaching, God breathing new life into their creative calling. That's the meaning behind everything they put out: when you thought you were finished, another breath.
